Hello folks,

Firstly a massive thanks to Wildrick for the opportunity to play and secondly it was wonderful to meet you all. It was a fantastic weekend with some great poker and some awesome people.

I was quite happy with my personal performance managing the second day and only going out to a bad beat.As i finished 3rd in the team does that make me the 3rd best player on the forum lol.The short and simple answer to that is no but at least i did not disgrace myself at the event.

One thing i have learnt is that drinking heavily till silly o clock in the morning 2 nights running is not condusive too decisive poker but without the drinking i would not of had such a cracking deep conversation with Madv on the friday night and such a good laugh with Redbull, Bainn, Discord and eventually Scott and Redbulls nephew George(faqsake) when they staggered back from the 3 card poker table at 5 am in the morning with a pocket full of cash.

Bainn was a inspiring captain always letting me i was playing poorly but without his hilarious antics at the table on day 1 it would of not been the same.

Rick got a disgusting beat on his queens the other guys push was strange then he hit miracle cards.

Also a nasty beat for discord for a treble up with ak vs aj and qj with the queen jack winning. She may of been short stacked but a treble up would been another player in day 2 and anything can happen. ul harmony.

A big thankyou the Nikthebad as i know now the finer tactics to Black jack and 3 card poker.

A massive congratulations to Geminis for a fantastic 7th place and some awesome play.

A big shout out to hoplesglory who was so unlucky with the train but still made it down . Pleasure to meet you mate.

One thing i was very happy with was being called a student and a youngster all the time although im actually 32 and older than a few of the team, Very flattering and without that i would not have had the pleasure of Bainns father like wisdom. (a clip round the back of the head and no dinner only kidding dude)

Finally thankyou so much Dave for the lift although my plonker like brain managed to send you 30 mins in the wrong direction before a 7 and a half hour drive it was a massive favour and i really appreciated it. It was very kind of you and george not to give me a quick kicking leave me in a ditch by the side of the M6 and leave me with a comment "theres your lift ya wee barstard". Seriously mate thanks and glad you got home ok. Wp as well dude.

Thought i would leave a long post as wont be able to comment much or play poker because im back looking after my grandparents.

My body is a temple now and zen poker is the future one thing i have taken from the weekend.
Thanks again rick without you and the site this great experience wouldnt of been possible. Great to meet you all and hope to see you all again. Do look after yourseves. Choose peace and love over fear and hate(which you guys will)but most of all be good to yourselves and help others

PEACE GUYS.

P.S BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM ive hit the miracle Queen What a Face

P.P.S sorry about the bad grammer BAinn Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I was on the button with 4 limpers the table had been quite tight and aggressive and for 4 people to limp was very unusual im sat with pocket nines and have a feeling that I was behind to at least one bigger pair. I decide to limp as well and SB calls and Scott checks with his K8s.
Flop comes down 988 Scott hits trips and bets out about 1k only to be re-raised by UTG to about 3.5K folds around to me and I push my 9k into the pot (not wanting an over pair to hit on turn or river) Scott instantly calls with his trips as he only has about 5k left. UTG then spends 5 mins before folding general consensus is he had JJ or QQ ( if I was wrong to limp he was even more so) what made this even more interesting was that one girl was away from the table and was folded automatically. After the hand was done the dealer said she had AA. Any way turn comes down 9 and river another 8
Quad 9 over Quad 8s
Unlucky mate gutting

Hope you all had a great time Whipit (UKSharks and now Quadnines)

hey hey quadnines, welcome to our forum, and thanks for the hand history Smile

My version was a little hazy as it was as told by Scott, who walked away from table once you turned over your hand lol. I believe it started off with K8 v 98, but by the evening after a few pints it was 10 8 v 99 lol.

Anyway, see you at the next one, scott will be having his revenge i'm sure Wink

Evening all, thx for the support on here,I personaly had a great time and was very funny putting names to faces.
I am not the best at writing up on these things as I have a terrible short term memory problem so a lot of it will be fairly hazy and perhaps only a few hands will be mentioned but here goes...
We set off late friday night and raced down the motorway in a vain atempt to make the freeroll game which last reg was 9.20, we arrived at 9.30 which was very frustrating but thankfully someone had put us on the late reg thingimy and so just had enough time to say hi to peeps and get a drink before we sat down to a very odd game of poker. I was a red's table and so was good as I dont treally play much live and having a friendly face at the table made things a lot easier and funnier at times(red has a very strong scottish accent and I had to translate to the dealer several times, much to red's irritation).

I dont remember much of the game apart from stacking off my very first hand, thankfully still in the rebuy period, tho I do think Red was a little worried at what I was up to but i their turned out to be method to my madness and it ended up being myself and red left in the last 20 from 160 odd players, I think I ended up 17th or something but I was chuffed that I had made it so far being I was so inexperienced live and had deffo caught the bug and was well up for the team game the next day... but alas I was just a sub. A big well done to red who was the last to go out I think 12th in the end.

So Trip,Vad,Red,George,Nic,Ric and myself all hit the bar, ordered some 99p brekies, Which I must say went down very well in our drunken states.Trip made me laugh, while we were ordering the food he was saying how he can never eat this time of the morning and he was not hungry, then proceeded to eat it saying how each mouthfull was like a piece of gold, and when he finished stared at Vads munch covetously, which also threw me a little... since when was fish fingers considered breakfast! scratch

Ok on to the next day ( sorry about the waffeling), Ric and I woke late and had lots of messing trying to sort out the patches, we managed to put the sticky on 3 but decided that many hands make light work so took them downstairs to Vad, Nic and Red and turned the lobby of the hotel in to what only be described as a kiddie craft area/ Blue Peter studio, with tons of double sided sticky take all over the place.

They did a great job of the patches and we were off over to the casino to meet the rest of the team, tho as it stood at that time I was the only one who wasnt going to be playing and so must admit their wasnt much spring to my step. Its at this point we get news that Hopeless isnt going to make it on timefor the start, the poor bloke had had a mission with the trains and was not going to be there untill at least 2 hours after kick off and so I had to step in! YAYAYAY woop! woop!

to be cont...

We find the lovely Helen, Bain and Scott and all get in to our team shirts, all be it with a little fuss from me who didnt want to Embarassed, I gave in and we all went to get the team pic done, then to take our seats, lets the games begin!.
My table was all male and brimming with testosterone, one guy to my right was showing his bluffs and being very aggressive and so I got irritated and started playing him at his own game rather than stearing clear which I must admit was prob why I did so well. One hand of note being my 77 on a AQJ flop two other peeps were in the pot one of which being the nutter, I lead out which was a very mad play for me as well as being very foolish, the wrong chap called and I had no clue where I stood but thankfully a larger bet on the turn soon sees him off.

The next few hours were so sweet, winning all of the hands I play with only 1 showdown,I have KJ sooted on the button and is raised to 800 when blinds were 200, I have about 19k at this point and have been very active so decide to peel off a flop, flop is 10 Q 7 rainbow, the chap bets pot and I decide to go fishing hehe and call, turn is a 9 sweeeeeeeeeeet, he goes ai for about 6k sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I insta call he huffs and puffs a bit and shows AJ, the turn comes a blank and I scoop a yummy pot taking me up to about 28k,

The rest of the evening I just run the table, only having to fold out of one hand I played and cruising up to 41k about 5th in chips ready for the mornings play. The team is looking in great shape at this point too with 5 players still left in, Hopeless finally here and takes down the sit and go side game YAY him x. A huge shout out to Scott at this point who seems to be having a nightmare of a day, first going out the team game quads v quads, then out the STT and then out the 20 second chance Sad. I had better not start on the way ric went out Ahem. We all go off and get a yummy meal at the resturant, the quote of the weekend has to be from Nic, when everyone had finnish eating Red offered his left over chips to Bain, Nic quickly remarked "surely if Bain should be taking anyones chips then he should be taking them from Ric" lol Wink, anyway we have tons more drinks and end up in bed around 4am.

Blimey I am banging on will let u all have a rest and my fingers too lol, back with the last day a bit later Very Happy

Hey guys sounds like you all had a great time. Brilliant performance Jen clearly you will have to be the first name on the team-sheet the next time!

Gutted I missed it but hopefully the next one wont collide with anything I can't get out of.

What can I say?

I'm going to take the night off tonight and do a full report because I think it deserves it.

In brief: Team was excellent , New friends = great, Old friends = great, food - cheap and great. Cards -dire, enjoyed it to hell but, as usual, I got nothing. I too, like Jen, bossed the entire table. Sometimes they do call though, and you can;t just have 57 all the time!

See you all again soon. cheers

Wp team and wp Jen.

Hi all,
I am the one who knocked out Jen on the FT ..... i was with her on other tables ..... she is a really good player and if she was only sub, you must have had a really good team.

I played with a few of your players and really enjoyed the banter and i am looking forward to seeiing you all again in the future sometime and defending our title king

Once again it was a really great weekend with the game played in a tough way but a fair and enjoyable experience.

TY for the compliment Embarassed
You do not know how close i was to folding my KK ....... Firstly because of the way you played i reckoned you had a very good hand eg AA or AK ..... plus when Ade called similar range ..... to win the trophy i had to finish higher than 1 of the Bristol women and if i lost to you or Ade i was crippled with hardly any chips left ..... that was why i took so long to call ..... if i was playing for my self it would be an instant call. Luckily i thought if i am going to fold KK i may aswell get up and leave table ... the rest is history.

That 1 play is what won us the trophy ..... but could easily have gone the other way.
