What a great weekend!
A huge pleasure to meet everyone, so thanks to all for coming! Special mention to hopelessglory who's first train was cancelled so he realised early on he was going to be too late for team event, but still turned up to support the team, n1 m8!
Scott - First casualty, but after checking in the bb with 10 8 and the flop coming down 988... limper had 99... what can you do lol. Turn 9 river 8 for quads v quads exit arg lol.
After that harsh set up start things were going along nicely for team sps, with 8 team members in the last 50, from 90 runners.
I'd made a great start with a few nice hits and payoffs, but after getting trip 10s, AA, and KK all cracked it was starting to go wrong. Jen and Bainn on the otherhand were both going great, and the rest of the team were looking solid, so all was well. I got a lucky double on a K high board, where i check raised my KJbb only to find the button raiser had AA but i sucked out

However things soon started to go wrong, I lost a big pot, 36k, and most of my chips after raising QQ and getting shoved on by A7 who proceeded to hit AAA77 lol. I wont mention what happened to my last 3k but the damage was already done lol, and i was out in 45th ish 30 mins before the end of day one. Harmony and Madv followed shortly after, but good performances from both, and we were looking good for day 2, with 5 team members making the last 35, with Jen as team chippy in 5th with 45k, Tripped with 28k, and Nick, Red and Bainn all just a little under average stack.
So we kicked off day 2 with high hopes but things didnt run according to plan - first tripedd lost 2 5050s trying to knock shorties out, and ended up getting short himself, then Bainn hit an A on the flop after raising with AJ, unfortunately the flop was AQ5 and his shove was insta called by oppo holding AQ, and we were down to 4.
The next 2 minutes were pretty brutal, as first Nick went out - calling a miniraise from the sb in the bb with 34s and flopping AA3 he shoved over oppos weak flop bet - unfortunately he had the A and nick was gone. Tripped then got his stack into the pot in great shape - holding JJ v 89 and A9 for a great shot a triple up, but the poker gods weren't having it, and after an 8 on the flop the 9 on the river was a rather sick exit.
That just left Redbull and Jen in the last 25, and with only 18 people getting points the teams chances were haning on a slim thread with 1st and 2nd being probably the only hope!
Red's day 1 had been unfortunate to say the least, and he was unlucky to be short after running AK into JJ about 4 times and losing all of them. His determined run on Day 2 with his shortish stack wasn't to be, and he was the point bubble on 19th when his 910 shove got a nice looking call from 66 but he lost the flip, vwp and great effort tho.
Jen was going great, but took a big hit with 12 left, her AK losing to A7 with a river 7. She started the final table in 8th/9, managed to hang on for a bit, but pushed a 9bb stack in from the co with A9s, and ran into QQ in the sb and KK in the bb! Harsh! An awesome performance from the super-sub tho to get 7th, and she wont be allowed to be sub for the next one!
Once again thanks to the team, I had a chat with the organiser and got our name downn for the provisional next one, hopefully this summer some time. I cant wait!
